Items 201-300 or art for joy’s sake

Scraps of paper litter the streambed
of her childhood,
each a pebble

dropped.

An instant ripples

and then she’s rushing on,
hair a frothy tangle,
wide-grinned and joy bubbling


I find it really hard to get rid of Miss A’s paintings and drawings. Each piece feels like a precious moment, but I’ve saved a few of my favorites to frame and let go of 65(!) of her other “masterpieces.” For her, it’s truly about the process, the momentary joy of creating. She creates with all of her vibrating soul energy, and then she moves on.
